Red Evening was initially split up into two parts because it was a total of 8 minutes long. However much of the lard was cut out and this lean song remains. It is a follow up to the previous song, Buzz, and takes the character from that song and puts them in this setting. The go-to reference for this song by the band is 'communist song.' While it is the last song on the album, it was one of the first songs actually written for it. Human condition: Power/Strength
lyrics
I know a man with a silver tongue
tried to sell me the world
tried to sell it to anyone.
And in all of our despair
willfully gave him our ear
and listened to him captivate.
Now many years have passed up by
since that man and his lie
stormed through here like a hurricane.
Our comrade has betrayed us all.
A man, a legend that we could believe.
He walks beside you and me,
in these ruins we call streets.
So solemnly he speaks,
of red skies and bright stars,
as if to move to Mars,
and release our spoiled hearts,
and unite us.
Now we're done, back to this, square one. 3x
I don't want to wait another second
for miracles
My hands and all these bricks, will rebuild,
one by one.
There's no solution sitting in the sky
There's only us, our struggles and our drive.
